Easter always seems like one of those holidays when everything should look a little extra special. Nice tables, soft colors, and cute desserts. But if you're the one cooking, you probably don't want to spend hours in the kitchen trying to get everything just right.
I've been there, trying to make something that looks festive without spending all day cooking. I keep coming back to these kinds of recipes. They seem like a lot of work, but they're not that hard once you get started.

They always look like something you'd buy at a bakery, but they're actually very simple.
You only need some basic cookie dough, chocolate, and those little chocolate eggs. As usual, bake the cookies, then press a small dip in the middle while they are still warm. Put the eggs on top and add the melted chocolate.
They look like little nests when they're done, which makes them feel ready for Easter right away, even though the process is very simple.

Carrot cake is a great Easter dessert that doesn't try too hard. I like making cupcakes better than a whole cake because they are easier to serve and handle.
The batter is easy to make. It only needs grated carrots, flour, sugar, eggs, and a little bit of cinnamon. After they are done baking, put cream cheese frosting on top.
You can make them look more special by adding a little bit of crushed nuts or even a tiny carrot on top. They look thoughtful, and you don't need to be an expert at decorating to make them.

This one is a classic, and it still works every time.
Boil the eggs, cut them in half, and mix the yolks with a little salt, mayonnaise, and mustard. Put the mixture back in with a spoon or a pipe.
They look more finished with a little paprika or chopped herbs on top. They always look neat on a plate, even though they’re one of the easiest things to prepare.

These look like something you'd see at a brunch, but they don't take much work.
Cut store-bought puff pastry into small squares and bake them until they are golden. Spread a layer of cream cheese mixed with a little sugar on top of the cake once it has cooled. After that, put in some fresh fruit.
Strawberries, blueberries, and kiwi are all great options. The colors make them feel bright and like spring, and the pastry does most of the work for you.

This one is fun without being too hard if you want to have a laid-back Easter morning.
Make pancakes like you normally would, then use one big pancake for the face and smaller ones for the ears to make a bunny shape. Put fruit on your face to make things like eyes or a nose.
It's easy, but it looks cute enough to make you feel like you planned something special, especially if there are kids around.

This is easy to make and doesn't need much cooking other than boiling the pasta.
Mix short pasta with cherry tomatoes, cucumber, a little feta cheese, and a light dressing. For more flavor, you can add herbs like basil or parsley.
It looks bright and fresh, so it fits right in with an Easter spread without needing anything fancy.

Spring is the right time for lemon desserts.
The batter is easy to make with flour, sugar, eggs, butter, and lemon zest. After baking, add a quick lemon glaze on top.
The glossy finish makes it look more polished than it really is, and the taste is lighter than that of heavier desserts.

This isn't really a recipe, but it always looks great.
Melt the chocolate, dip the strawberries in it, and then let them cool on parchment paper. If you want to add a little more detail, you can drizzle white chocolate on top.
They look fancy on a plate, but they are very easy to make.
You don't need to follow hard recipes to make Easter special. A few simple dishes with some color and small touches can make a big difference. If you pick just two or three of these, your table will look put together without having to spend all day cooking.
